👋 I am Dihong Huang, an undergraduate in Computer Science at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and a visiting researcher at the Carnegie Mellon University Robotics Institute, working with Prof. David Held and Prof. Zackory Erickson.
🤖 My research focuses on scalable robot learning for dexterous and contact-rich manipulation. I am interested in how robots can reuse learned skills, learn from diverse data, and adapt reliably to new physical tasks.
🎓 I also collaborate with Prof. Mingyu Ding at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Previously, I worked at Axis Robotics and the Shanghai Innovation Institute.
Research
I believe that progress toward general-purpose robots depends on turning experience into reusable knowledge. A robot should be able to build on what it has learned, transfer its skills to new situations, and adapt through interaction with the physical world.
Interests
I am interested in how robots learn versatile skills from diverse experience and generalize beyond their training conditions. My research centers on robot learning and dexterous manipulation, with a broader interest in scalable learning, physical interaction, and transfer between simulation and the real world.
My Work
My work has explored reusable manipulation skills, data and evaluation systems for robot learning, and adaptation in contact-rich tasks. It builds on earlier research in multimodal understanding and human–robot interaction, connecting how intelligent systems perceive the world with how they act within it.
